Over a century of brass music in Beenleigh.

Our history

The Beenleigh Brass Band has been performing in the area for over 100 years. One of the earliest documented appearances is the opening of the “new” concrete bridge at Waterford, where the band took part in the march over the old wooden bridge and back along the new bridge.

1916 saw the official closure of the old timber bridge structure at Waterford and, simultaneously, the opening of the new concrete structure. To mark the occasion, local residents walked across the old timber structure and returned over the new concrete bridge, led by the Beenleigh Brass Band.

The band today

Beenleigh Brass Band is a community based organisation. Today the band works towards developing the next generation of brass musicians through tuition and mentoring of upcoming musicians from the local schools.

The band has a broad catalogue of music to suit a wide variety of audiences. This ranges from traditional and modern brass band music, through to classical works arranged for brass and arrangements of popular melodies. We aim to bring enjoyment and promote harmony in the wider community by introducing brass band music to the widest selection of people possible.

Who we support

The band supports numerous local organisations including Quota, Twin Rivers Lions Club, Beenleigh Returned Services League, Logan City Council, Beenleigh Historical Village and local nursing homes and charities.

We regularly support activities like Australia Day ceremonies, Anzac Day dawn and daytime ceremonies, Christmas carols, the Beenleigh Cane Festival and Oktoberfest.
